Meet Eleanor

Born in Scotland Eleanor immigrated to Canada when she was a small child. Eleanor graduated first with her Bachelor of Science and then went on to achieve her MBA from Dalhousie University.  Eleanor believes strongly in giving back to her community. She has been a member of several boards in business, nonprofit, education, health and recreation. As the mother of five adopted children this included volunteering with her children’s sports and school activities.

Eleanor has experience in financial services and transportation. She has worked in senior roles with the Bank of Nova Scotia and Montreal Trust, as the President & CEO of Credit Union Atlantic Limited and as the President & CEO of Halifax International Airport Authority. She was appointed as the Vice-Chair of the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada. Eleanor received 5 Top 50 Atlantic CEO Awards, has been admitted to the Top 50 Atlantic CEO Hall of Fame and received the Canadian Progress Women of Excellence Award.

She has successfully executed business recoveries and turnarounds which have resulted in growth and profitability. Through her work with all levels of government she and her team established 24/7 Canada Customs & Border services and US Customs Preclearance at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
